Natural Tree & Shrub Pruning

Our overall goal during natural tree and shrub pruning is a healthy landscape of vibrant plants that are allowed to grow into their natural size and shape with minimum annual or bi-annual pruning.

If trees and shrubs are in the right place, then pruning is really focused on removing dead, diseased, broken, crossing or rubbing branches, and minor aesthetic shaping to improve the long-term health of each plant.

We do not top trees or shear branches because doing so can negatively affect a plant’s health. When plants need to be reduced in size, we follow best practices to remove individual branches to support strong, lateral growth.

When questions arise, we refer clients to natural tree and shrub pruning best practices distributed through Plant Amnesty.
