In Harmony has collected food for Northwest Harvest from our generous clients every fall for the past 15 years.

When we started In Harmony 25 years ago, one of our main goals was to help reconnect human beings to the planet. We wanted to move beyond “better living through chemicals.”

Part of our work has been helping people understand how important Mother Nature’s wellbeing is and how her health is directly connected to our own wellbeing. That includes good, healthy food.

With this in mind, we started a food drive for Northwest Harvest in 2004. We wanted to help an organization that provides nutritious food to hungry people and fights to end hunger.

Each autumn for the past 15 years we have picked up food from our great clients and delivered it to Northwest Harvest. Over that time we have collected more than 20 tons of food!

If you are a service client, you will receive a call this fall to remind you to leave out non-perishable food for Northwest Harvest. Our technicians will pick it up on a service visit, and we will deliver everything to the organization. We hope you will join us in supporting this important cause.

About Northwest Harvest

Northwest Harvest’s vision is ending hunger in Washington. They lead the fight for hungry people statewide to have access to nutritious food. They respect people’s dignity while serving their needs and promoting good health.

Northwest Harvest is the only nonprofit food bank distributor operating statewide in Washington. It has a network of 375 food banks, meal programs and high-need schools. Through this network, the organization provide nearly two million meals every month.

Northwest Harvest is committed to nutrition. Two-thirds of the food they provide consists of fruits and vegetables.

With distribution centers in western, eastern, coastal and central Washington, Northwest Harvest reaches rural communities where people in need would otherwise go hungry. They require that their partner food banks provide Northwest Harvest food freely to anyone hungry enough to ask. Northwest Harvest has been working for more than 50 years.

Northwest Harvest distributed nearly 22 million meals last year. They served people in need in every county in Washington. The organization relies on donations to help them achieve their mission. Every penny of their food and operating funds comes from individuals, businesses, foundations and other organizations. Ninety cents of every dollar donated goes directly to food distribution.

You can find out more at Northwestharvest.org. Northwest Harvest is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Donations are tax deductible to the full extent of the law.
