In Harmony has traditionally organized a food drive for Northwest Harvest each fall. For 16 years we have collected food from our clients on service visits and delivered it to Northwest Harvest. Over that time our generous clients have donated more than 20 tons of food!
We are sad to report that we have put our food drive on hold for a second year in order to protect our employees from Covid-19. We hope you and your family continue to stay healthy and safe.
The pandemic has led to more people facing insecurity with food, employment and housing. Donating is one way to help them in this difficult time.
We hope you will donate directly to Northwest Harvest or Hopelink to help reduce hunger and provide services to people in need.
Northwest Harvest
Northwest Harvest’s vision is ending hunger in Washington. They lead the fight for hungry people statewide to have access to nutritious food. And they work to change policies and practices that perpetuate hunger, poverty and disparities.
Northwest Harvest has a network of 375 food banks, meal programs and high-need schools. Through this network, the organization provide nearly two million meals every month.
Northwest Harvest is committed to nutrition. Two-thirds of the food they provide consists of fruits and vegetables.
The organization relies on donations to help them achieve their mission. Every penny of their food and operating funds comes from individuals, businesses, foundations and other organizations. Ninety cents of every dollar donated goes directly to food distribution.
You can find out more at Northwestharvest.org. Northwest Harvest is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Donations are tax deductible to the full extent of the law.

Hopelink
If you would rather focus on the needs of your local community, consider giving to Hopelink. Hopelink provides support for people facing a food crisis or another life crisis who live in King and Snohomish counties.
The organization serves homeless and low-income families, children, seniors and people with disabilities. Hopelink’s mission is “to promote self-sufficiency for all members of our community; we help people make lasting change.”
People who turn to Hopelink for help may be hungry, homeless or about to have their utilities shut off. Some may have lost their jobs or had a sudden illness that drained their savings account.
Hopelink provides a network of critical social services, including five food banks, transportation, family development, financial assistance, employment programs, adult education and financial literacy training and five food banks. Its service centers, housing and transportation programs help more than 63,000 people every year.
