This year Thanksgiving is likely to look a bit different from the usual holiday. We sincerely hope that your Thanksgiving includes delicious food, connections with family and friends (whether in person or virtually), leisure, and gratitude for life, love and health.
What are you grateful for today? Each day brings an abundance of small blessings if we can just see and appreciate them. Perhaps it’s raindrops glistening on a spider web, warm words from a grocery store clerk, a great cup of coffee, a funny cartoon or brightly colored autumn leaves.
We are grateful for you, our clients. Some of you have been with us for many years. We greatly appreciate your business and thank you for trusting us with your landscapes. We thank you for your patience this year as we adapted to the changing environment. And we also thank you for being our partners in building a healthier planet one landscape at a time.
Iroquois prayer of thanksgiving
Here’s an Iroquois prayer of thanksgiving. Posting the prayer is now our annual tradition. It expresses our connection to nature, which is a foundation of our company.
We return thanks to our mother, the earth, which sustains us.
We return thanks to the rivers and streams, which supply us with water.
We return thanks to all herbs, which furnish medicines for the cure of our diseases.
We return thanks to the moon and stars, which have given to us their light when the sun was gone.
We return thanks to the sun, that has looked upon the earth with a beneficent eye.
Lastly, we return thanks to the Great Spirit, in Whom is embodied all goodness, and Who directs all things for the good of Her children.
