Over 14 years we have collected more than 20 tons of food from our generous clients. In Harmony Sustainable Landscapes

Over the years we have collected more than 20 tons of food from our generous clients.

We are really excited to be doing our food drive again this year after a three-year hiatus due to the pandemic. Before that, we had sponsored a food drive every year since 2004. Over the years our generous clients have donated more than 20 tons of food! We thank you for helping to reduce hunger in Washington state.

Here at In Harmony, we believe that our health and wellbeing are directly connected to the earth. Part of wellness is having good, healthy food to eat.

If you are a service client, you will receive an email this fall to remind you to leave out non-perishable food for Northwest Harvest. Our technicians will pick it up on a service visit, and we will deliver everything to the warehouse.

We hope you will join us in supporting this important cause. If you are not a service client, consider donating food or dollars directly to Northwest Harvest.

About Northwest Harvest

We support Northwest Harvest because it provides nutritious food to hungry people statewide and fights for food justice. “Nutritious food is a human right,” according to the organization.

Northwest Harvest builds partnerships in communities across Washington to get food where it’s needed most. It provides about two million meals each month through a statewide network of more than 400 food banks, meal programs, schools and community-based organizations.

Northwest Harvest also advocates for state and federal policies to increase access to food, housing, health care and economic stability. “Part of a justice-centered movement, we advocate to change inequitable policies, practices, and institutions that perpetuate hunger and poverty. Together, we ensure communities across our state can access the nutritious food they want and need to thrive.”

Northwest Harvest relies on donations. Their food and operating funds come from individuals, businesses, foundations and other organizations. It is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Donations are tax deductible to the full extent of the law.

Things to consider when donating

  • Give with respect. Please only donate items that are unopened and in their original packaging. Do not donate expired, damaged or partially used products.
  • Consider the nutrient density of what you are donating. Opt for canned goods packed in water or items that are low sodium or low sugar.
  • When available, pop-top cans and other easy-open containers help make food more accessible.
  • Buy donations for your food drive at locally owned and independent grocery stores to support your community!
  • Avoid glass containers.
