About Plant Amnesty

Plant Amnesty works to “end the senseless torture and mutilation of trees and shrubs.” They offer workshops, referrals to  professional arborists, pruning literature and more than a hundred educational videos on YouTube.

Plant Amnesty founder Cass Turnbull was an inspiration for many, including In Harmony. When we started our company, she strongly encouraged our natural approach to landscaping.

Cass Turnbull died suddenly in January 2017.  After attending a moving memorial service for Cass, Ashley Bullitt offered a piece of her family’s large property on Capitol Hill for a Cass Turnbull garden.

Plant Amnesty is tasked with clearing the land and procuring funding for the design and installation of the garden. Eventually Seattle Parks will manage the entire Bullitt property, including the garden.
